Sustainable or Green Building | Prefabricated Modular Buildings

Howdy Folks ? Green Building is on the hot list nowadays. Below article is about green or sustainable buildings.

Green Building

Today engineers are achieving milestones once considered to be unachievable. In this period of rapid urbanization, inventions in every field are inexorable. Civil Engineering too has gone through major changes for the betterment of the society and the ecosystem. Green Building relates engineering to the environment. Green Building

In urbanism, landscape urbanism is gaining popularity. Landscape Urbanism is in actual an approach to urban design in which horizontal and vertical structures in cities are designed according to the topography or landscape of an area. In the past, architects and urban planners used to design cities without considering the ecosystem. Today the architecture and planning that we see in some areas are due to environmental awareness spreading at a profound pace. Our biological environments are always affected in a good or bad way, whenever we change our physical environments. Today many cities of the world are considering ecological impacts due to urbanization. Not only architects and planners, but civil engineers are also playing a vital role in saving the environment.

Sustainable buildings or mostly referred to as green buildings are becoming famous day by day. These building techniques fall under the category of environment-friendly. Green building relates to the processes in construction that are resource efficient. The target of green buildings is to alleviate the overall built environment on human health and natural environment.

Prefabricated Modular Buildings, is one of the ways that ensure sustainable construction. A prefabricated building is the one that is constructed by using prefabrication, i.e. construction units made in factories and after transportation, assembled and installed on site.

? Positive Aspects of Prefabricated Modular Buildings

1️⃣ This construction technique requires a shorter time span for construction. e.g., in China, a 30 storey hotel was built in just 15 days by using prefabricated modules by Chinese sustainable building company, Broad Group.

2️⃣ By adopting this method of construction, less construction waste is produced. The conventional techniques of building structures produced tons of waste which are hazardous for the environment as well as humans.

3️⃣ This construction is not affected by weather as the modules or units are assembled in the factory.

4️⃣ Due to reduced labor and site materials required, this method ensures valuable savings.

5️⃣ Quality control is built into every step of the modular building process. These buildings are more durable than those built from conventional methods. Since the prefabricated units are built in a controlled environment of the factory this ensures uniform quality.

✔ Over To You

Green buildings are gaining popularity. This eco-friendly construction technique has opened a new chapter in the field of engineering. Skyscrapers now are built efficiently by adopting green building techniques. Thus, nowadays ecology and engineering run side by side.
